It’s going to be … close. Virginia (19-10) had two chances to punch its ticket to the 2026 NCAA Tournament last week, but lost at home to North Carolina and Virginia Tech, the latter in criminal fashion – one of the worst endgame calls you will ever see.

Good news: the ‘Hoos have a chance in the 8-9 game at the ACC Tournament on Thursday to get another quality win over a Clemson team (20-10, 11-7 ACC, NET: 44) that itself is on the NCAA bubble.

Win that one, and UVA gets a shot at top seed Duke (21-8, 16-2, NET: 10) on Friday.

I think one win clinches a bid; two cinches a bid, and maybe gets Virginia to the 7 seed line.

A loss on Thursday isn’t catastrophic, but …
