North Carolina led by 17 at halftime, and didn’t let Virginia closer than nine the rest of the way en route to an 82-70 win in JPJ on Thursday night.

UNC (24-6, 13-4 ACC, NET: 17) held the ‘Hoos (19-8, 11-6 ACC, NET: 36) to 23 points on 10-of-33 shooting in the first half to get out to a 40-23 lead at the break.

Virginia got the margin to nine, at 68-59, with 6:10 to go on a Romi Levy three, but that was as close as it would get.

Levy had 15 points for UVA, with Kymora Johnson leading the way with 22 points.
