The national weather service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Shenandoah Valley in effect from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon.
The forecast has Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro in line for 5 inches or more of snow. Snow is expected to move into the area late Wednesday afternoon and to be heavy at times Wednesday night and Thursday.
Temperatures will be in the 20s Wednesday afternoon and night before slowly rising into the lower 30s on Thursday afternoon.
