The City of Waynesboro is looking at the safety and operations on U.S. 340 in the Town Center corridor, and it wants input from the public through a survey.

A survey has been launched looking at the area from Grandview Drive to Northgate Avenue, including P. Buckley Moss Drive and Rosser Avenue.

The corridor includes several crash hot spots, the most notable at the intersection of Rosser Avenue, Lew Dewitt Boulevard and Windigrove Drive.

The survey also looks for input to address biking, walking and transit connections to nearby businesses.

The goal is to assess mid-term to long-term challenges and opportunities and will identify project recommendations that may be advanced for federal, state and local funding opportunities.

The survey will be active online through May 19.

In addition to the city, study partners include the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Metropolitan Planning Organization and BRITE Bus Transit Services.

The organizations hope to complete the full study by August 2026.
