Waynesboro Senior Center Weekly Update

Chris Graham

The week of April 10-16, 2011 is Volunteer Appreciation Week. The Center wants to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all of our volunteers.

We have volunteers working in almost all areas of our services. They truly make a difference in the lives of our clients and members. We have volunteers that work in our kitchen packing food for Meals on Wheels, deliver Meals on Wheels, present health education information, provide musical entertainment at the center, assist with administrative needs, and many other things. Tom Brokaw has been quoted as saying: “It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.” We will be reaching out to our volunteers in different ways this whole month to let them know how much we appreciate them taking time to make a difference.

Weekly Menu

MONDAY: Beef tips with mushroom gravy, rice, mixed vegetables, fruit
TUESDAY: Baked fish, potato fingers, greens, pears

About the Waynesboro Senior Center

The Waynesboro Senior Center, sponsored by Valley Program for Aging Services, invites people 60 years of age and older to participate in a variety of programs to be offered in the coming week. The center, at 325 Pine Ave., in the Jackson-Wilson building, is open 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Transportation is provided as needed by a VPAS van driver, who also helps with shopping trips and appointments to local doctors. Contributions toward expenses are accepted. Additional information can be found at www.waynesboroseniorcenter.org.
