Waynesboro: Investigation under way after shots fired early Sunday morning

According to a news release from the Waynesboro Police Department, officers located damaged property and recovered several items of evidentiary value. No injuries have been reported.

The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near Florence Avenue.

The WPD sent out a Ring alert to residents in the area of the 300 block of Florence Avenue, the 100 block of Henry Avenue and near the intersection of New Hope Road and Ohio Street.

The department is looking for video footage related to its investigation into the discharge of a firearm on Feb. 22 between 6:15 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.

No information was released on potential injuries or damage to property.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video with suspicious individuals, vehicles or activity in the area, is asked to contact Cpl. Nystrom at (540) 942-6675.
