Waynesboro City Council unanimously approved a change to the polling location for Ward C at its meeting Monday night.

No one spoke at a public hearing before the 4-0 vote. Councilman Bruce Allen was not at the meeting.

With the approval, the Ward C polling location will move from Wayne Hills Preschool to Kate Collins Middle School starting with the November general election.

Waynesboro Registrar Lisa Jeffers told Waynesboro City Council that the new location will be a “much better opportunity for the voter and for our workers as well.”

Jeffers pointed to egress and more accessible parking for curbside voting at Kate Collins as good reasons to support the venue change.

Kate Collins Middle School is located at 1625 Ivy Street in Waynesboro.
