Washington tops Miami, 5-1

nationals_logoRyan Zimmerman, Clint Robinson and Ian Desmond homered, Jordan Zimmerman gave up a run in seven innings, and Washington topped Miami, 5-1, on Saturday in Nationals Park.

Zimmerman (11-8, 3.45 ERA) gave up a run on seven hits in seven innings of work, striking out four and walking one.

Tom Koehler (8-13, 4.12 ERA) took the loss for the Marlins, giving up five runs on nine hits in six innings.

Washington (65-63) gained a game on the New York Mets, who lost on Saturday, 3-1, to the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, moving the Nats to five and a half games back in the National League East race.
