Jordan Zimmerman scattered six hits over eight scoreless innings, and Washington shut out Toronto, 2-0, in the opening game of a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday.
The game was a make-up from Monday’s rainout.
Zimmerman (5-2) struck out four and walked one, lowering his season ERA to 2.88.
Drew Storen put in a 1-2-3 ninth for his 17th save.
The Nats got both of their runs off Toronto starter R.A. Dickey (2-6) in the fifth, on a Bryce Harper RBI single and a sacrifice-fly RBI from Ryan Zimmerman.
