nationals_logoJayson Werth, Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon each homered for Washington, powering the Nationals to an 8-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, completing a four-game weekend sweep.

The win was the fifth in a row for the Nats (71-65), who gained a game on the New York Mets (75-61) in the NL East standings. The Mets, 4-3 losers at Miami on Sunday, have a four-game lead in the East.

Werth hit his seventh homer of the season, a three-run shot, in the second, keying a five-run Nats rally. Harper (34) and Rendon (4) each hit solo shots.

Starting pitcher Joe Ross couldn’t take advantage of the onslaught, getting lifted in the fifth, giving up four runs on five hits in four and a third innings.

Felipe Rivero (2-1, 2.63 ERA) got the win in relief for Washington.
