Jahan Dotson, the 2022 first-round pick, is out of Washington, with the Commanders dealing the wideout to NFC East rival Philadelphia for three 2025 draft picks.

It says a lot about how little the front office thinks of Dotson, the 16th pick in 2022, who had 49 catches for 518 yards for the Commanders in 2023, that they moved him to a division rival, where the Eagles are hoping Dotson can be their #3 receiver, behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.

The new coaching regime, head coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, didn’t see Dotson as a reliable #2 guy behind Terry McLarin (79 catches, 1,002 yards in 2023).

The Commanders used Dotson primarily in the slot, where they have 2024 third-round pick Luke McCaffrey, Jamison Crowder and former UVA standout Olamide Zaccheaus as options.

The Commanders will get a third-round pick and two seventh-rounders in the trade from the Eagles.

Washington also included a 2025 fifth-round pick along with Dotson on its end of the trade.
