VMI basketball returns to the court Tuesday night for the semifinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT), set for a 7 p.m. tip time against Yale in Cameron Hall. The game between the Keydets and Bulldogs will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network, while audio broadcasts can be heard via VMIKeydets.com and 96.7 3WZ in the Lexington area. Live stats are also available.
Last Time Out (at Ohio – 3/26/2014):
Sparked by Rodney Glasgow’s 30 points, the VMI Keydets rallied from a 17-point first half deficit and went on to defeat the Ohio Bobcats, 92-90, in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT) Wednesday night in Athens, Ohio. It was VMI’s largest deficit rallied from to win since Feb. of 2008, and with the win, VMI assured itself of becoming the Big South’s first men’s basketball team to ever play in the month of April.
Glasgow led the way for the Keydets for the first time in the tournament, scoring 30 points on 11 of 19 shooting. He added five assists and is now just two shy of becoming the ninth player in Big South history to post 200 in a single season. D.J. Covington added 29 markers and 11 rebounds to notch his 19th double-double this season.
Last Meeting With Yale:
- VMI and Yale have never met on the hardwood.
A VMI Win Would:
- Advance the Keydets to the CIT Championship on Thursday against the winner of Pacific/Murray State.
- Be VMI’s fourth straight win and the Keydets’ 15th win at home this season. Those 15 wins would mark a new school record.
- Give the Keydets 23 wins on the season, which would be the third-most in school history.
