Virginia Union to host African American Business Summit

AFP

economic-forecast-headerGovernor McAuliffe will host his first-ever African American Business Summit on Tuesday, August 30, at Virginia Union University’s Living and Learning Center located at 1500 N. Lombardy Street in Richmond. The summit is the first in a series of SWaM-focused business summits to connect Virginians to state resources.

The mission of Governor McAuliffe’s African American Business Summit is to connect African American entrepreneurs and business leaders with state resources and services to help build and grow businesses and support the new Virginia economy. Additionally, the summit will provide an opportunity for the McAuliffe Administration to gain a deeper understanding of issues impacting African American businesses.

“Since the beginning of my administration, I’ve remained committed to increasing opportunities for Virginia’s minority business community. I understand that in order to create the new Virginia economy, we have to ensure that everyone has access to opportunities to do business with or work with the Commonwealth,” Governor McAuliffe said.

The purpose of Governor McAuliffe’s African American Business Summit is to provide African American stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and business leaders with the opportunity to engage with the administration and hear from experts on how to create, maintain, and grow businesses.
