A K9 dog named Bandit searched a vehicle following a traffic stop on Route 29 and found illegal drugs in the vehicle, according to police.

A search recovered 10 grams of fentanyl, 30 grams of methamphetamine as well as marijuana and a concealed handgun.

The discovery resulted in the arrest of two people on Monday.

Stephanie M. Rubio, 24, of Alexandria, faces charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm and concealing a firearm.

Jordan K. McNally, 26, of Herndon, faces charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Additional charges are pending.

Virginia State Police said the traffic stop took place at Opal Road in Fauquier County at approximately 12:30 p.m. According to police, the vehicle was pulled over because it did not have having a front license plate, and it had an expired inspection sticker.

The occupants of the vehicle were behaving suspiciously, according to police, causing the trooper to call for the narcotics K9 dog to assist at the scene.
