Virginia Organizing chapters around the state are gearing up to put pressure on Republican members of Congress who have refused to answer constituent calls.

Over the next few weeks, the Wise County, Wythe County, New River Valley, Norfolk, Suffolk and Eastern Shore chapters will be at the offices of Republicans Jennifer Kiggans and Morgan Griffith.

The chapters want answers on Medicaid, child care, the SAVE Act and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, among other issues.

The first actions will be held on March 19 at 10 a.m. where constituents of Kiggans will be visiting her offices in Onley and Virginia Beach.

“We will attend [the rally] because we want Congresswoman Kiggans to know that we fear DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency] is dismantling the U.S. government, killing Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other lifesaving programs,” said Jane and Paul Berge of the Eastern Shore.

They also plan to ask Kiggans why she has refused to meet with constituents this year.

Additional dates and times have not been announced.

Update: Co-organizer Meghan McNamara told AFP this evening that “as of now, we have plans in the districts of Kiggans and Griffith.”

There are no current plans with Virginia Organizing to address these issues at the offices of Congressman Ben Cline.
