Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin adds three local residents to state boards

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced additional key administration and board appointments on Friday.

Several local people received appointments including:

  • Speyside Bourbon Cooperage announced plans this week to add a fourth facility in Virginia. The company’s director of procurement, Michael Harold, of Harrisonburg, has now been added to the Virginia Board of Forestry. The company creates bourbon barrels with American White Oak wood and will source 40 percent of its timer from landowners in Virginia, according to an agreement with the state and Pittsylvania County.
  • Augusta County resident Bo Wilson, vice president of Dr. Pepper in Staunton, was named to the Litter Control and Recycling Fund Advisory Board.
  • Jim Cheng of Charlottesville, the Chief Strategy Officer for Pamunkey Indian Enterprises, was named to the Virginia Growth and Opportunity Board.
