  • Virginia fell to 2-6 all-time in ACC Championship games
  • Virginia is 37-61 all-time in the ACC Tournament, including 6-2 in the last three years
  • UVA head coach Tony Bennett is now 7-6 in the ACC Tournament
  • Anthony Gill and Malcolm Brogdon (first team) and London Perrantes (second team) made the All-Tournament Team

 

Virginia Team Notes

  • Virginia is 53-130 all-time against North Carolina, including a 3-13 mark in the ACC Tournament
  • UVA head coach Tony Bennett is 5-7 career against North Carolina
  • UVA shot a season-low 36.5 percent; the Cavaliers’ previous low was 38.9 percent against Cal (Dec. 22)
  • UVA hit on just 33.3 percent of its second-half shots, matching its second lowest total for any half this season (low is 18.2 percent in first half against Cal)
  • It also was the Cavaliers’ lowest second-half field-goal percentage this season and just the third time UVA shot under 40 percent in a second half – 35.7 at Florida State, 37.5 at Clemson
  • The Tar Heels are one of four UVA opponents to shoot 50 percent or better – Ohio State (50 percent), Wake Forest (53.5), Miami on Friday (54.8)
  • UVA is 17-3 this season when out-rebounding its opponent
  • UVA had 16 offensive rebounds – its second most of the season (23 in season opener against Morgan State)
  • UVA took 24 3-pointers – its second most of the season (25 against Long Beach State)
  • Virginia attempted (and made) a season-low three free throws

 

Virginia Player Notes

  • Now with 1,752 career points, Malcolm Brogdon is 11th on Virginia’s all-time scoring list
  • Brogdon attempted a career-high 22 field goals (previous high was 20 on Jan. 9 at Georgia Tech)
  • London Perrantes now has 424 career assists (eighth in program history)
  • Anthony Gill scored nine of his 13 points after halftime
