VCU rallies from nine down in second half, puts away George Washington, 89-75

VCU trailed by nine with 12:27 to go, then outscored George Washington 25-4 over the next 9:30 to take control, on the way to an 89-75 win on Tuesday at the Siegel Center.

The Rams (21-6, 11-2 A-10, NET: 45) held GW (15-12, 6-8 A-10, NET: 87) to 1-of-13 shooting in the crucial stretch.

Junior guard Tyrell Ward led VCU, which has now won 10 straight, with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while also recording two steals.

Junior Lazar Djokovic, sophomore Brandon Jennings and freshman Nyk Lewis each added 14 points to the VCU effort, and Terrence Hill Jr. had 13 points and seven assists.

One other A-10 note from Tuesday: league leader Saint Louis was upset at Rhode Island, 81-76, the first loss in A-10 play for the Billikens (24-2, 12-1 A-10, NET: 22).
