Kymora Johnson had 22 points and seven assists, but Virginia wasn’t able to overcome a disastrous third quarter, and fell at #15 Vanderbilt, 81-68, on Wednesday in Nashville, in the ACC/SEC Challenge.

The ‘Hoos (6-3) trailed by four at the break, but Vandy (9-0) broke things open in the third quarter, outscoring UVA 29-11, getting 19 points off seven Cavaliers turnovers.

Johnson, the preseason All-ACC guard, shot 8-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-8 from three, and logged all 40 minutes.

Paris Clark had 12 points for Virginia, with Adeang Ring scoring 10.

Up next for the ‘Hoos: UVA opens ACC play on the road at Boston College (4-7) on Sunday. Tipoff from Chestnut Hill is set for noon on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX).
