The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants are pleased to announce that Washington Redskins offensive lineman and Richmond native Morgan Moses will throw out the first pitch before the Squirrels game on Tuesday, July 28 at The Diamond.
The rookie Moses was selected by the Washington in the third round of the 2014 draft out of University of Virginia and is currently participating in the nearby Redskins training camp. The 23 year-old was a two-time all-state lineman at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield.
“We are thrilled to welcome Moses and his family here at The Diamond and we hope to show them a good time and offer a reprieve from the rigors of camp.” Flying Squirrels COO & VP Todd “Parney” Parnell stated. “It has been a pleasure to work with the Redskins and we applaud their continued efforts within the Richmond community. The Flying Squirrels begin a three game homestand against the Harrisburg Senators Monday night at 7:05PM. Tuesday’sgame also features a Mascot Pennant giveaway to the first 2,000 fans ages 14 and under The first place Squirrels enter the series with a 5.5 game lead in the Western Division over the Akron RubberDucks.
