United Methodist Women hear about VPAS

vpasheader0311SAW Regional Director Janice Gentry was asked to speak to the United Methodist Women’s Group at Main Street United Methodist Church on May 8.

Janice gave an overview of all VPAS services in the SAW region to the approximately 20 women in attendance. Particular focus was given to SNAP Outreach as the church has a food pantry and a recent grant will allow for food pantry volunteers to be trained to pre-screen individuals for SNAP as they come to the area food pantries for food assistance. Many in attendance were already familiar with the Meals on Wheels program as the church provides volunteers for meal deliveries every December.

The speaking engagement resulted in a $50.00 donation to VPAS.
