Under siege? Charlottesville Police respond to four shots fired calls in span of five hours

The City of Charlottesville received four reports of shots fired on Tuesday night, and it’s unknown if any of the incidents are related.

Starting at 7 p.m., the Charlottesville Police Department responded to four incidents within five hours.

No injuries were reported, but parked vehicles and a building sustained damage.

The first call at 7 p.m. was in the area of Monticello Avenue and 2nd Street SE. Officers arrived on scene, located shell casings and identified several parked vehicles that were struck by gunfire.

The second call at 10:21 p.m. was in the area of Michie Drive. One unoccupied building was struck.

The third incident occurred at 10:29 p.m. in the area of Hardy Drive. Officers and callers heard gunfire in the area. Details are unconfirmed at this time.

The final incident occurred early Wednesday morning at 12:04 a.m. in the area of South 1st Street. No injuries or property damage were reported.
