Virginia State Police: Trooper Mitchell on the line? It’s likely a scam

Scam calls are being reported in the Staunton and Radford areas, according to Virginia State Police.

The scammer is calling from (540) 402-5776 and leaving voicemails claiming to be “Trooper Mitchell” and asking for recipients to call him back.

Virginia State Police does not have a Trooper Mitchell in those areas.
