Longwood University dropped a 6-1 baseball road decision at the College of William and Mary from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg.

Ryan Lindemuth (2-3, rbi) added a sacrifice fly in the second. Stephen Arcure (2-4) doubled and later scored via a wild pitch in the fourth. In the fifth, Jonathan Slattery (4-5, 2 rbi) provided a run-scoring single that scored Lindemuth who had doubled. Ryan Brown (0-1) was hit-by-a-pitch, stole a base, and crossed home plate courtesy a throwing error by the visitors.

Longwood finally got on the scoreboard with a run in the seventh as Jones (2-3) reached on a one-out single, advanced to second on a grounder, and scored on an RBI single by Lacy (1-3, rbi). The Tribe added a final run in the eighth when Slattery added a run-scoring double for the hosts.

Longwood used six pitchers in the contest as freshman Ryan Schubert|Springfield (Annandale) (1-1) took the loss with the first 3.0 innings, allowing three hits and two runs, one earned, with one strikeout and two walks.
