Boating in the beautiful state of Florida offers near endless adventure. From the 8,436 miles of Florida coastline and over 30,000 lakes, there is so much more to see and do on the bodies of Florida water.

But what are some of the best places for you and your family to go boating in Florida? Here are a few of the best places that will make your boat rental in Florida more than worth it.

Miami

Have you ever wanted to boat alongside some of the most lavish and impressive yachts on Planet Earth? Well then get a boat for the day and cruise alongside the rich and famous in South Florida.

Some of the premier destinations in Miami are the Nixon Sandbar, Billy Baggs Florida State Park and Key Biscayne. You can also enjoy and slow and leisurely cruise down Miami’s many canals to take a look at the most impressive mansions in the area.

Marco Island and Naples Area

Positioned perfectly in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida, Marco Island and Naples are known for some of the most beautiful boating locations in all of Florida.

Ten Thousand Islands in Marco Island is an epic locale for snorkeling and fishing.

You can also head further off shore to take advantage of the massive schools of fish that call the surrounding natural and artificial reefs home. Tarpon, snapper, grouper, shark, cobia, permit, trout, snook, redfish, tripletail, kingfish, bass, and more can be found in this area.

There are also a great diving destinations in this area as well. Some of the most popular include the Black Hole, the Baja California ship wreck and the Santa Lucia wreck that is just 47 feet deep, making it an ideal spot for first-time wreck divers.

If you want to park your boat, enjoy a day and night of dining, cafes, live music, and more. You should also be sure to catch the traditional “drum circle” that is held on the beach every Sunday night. It’s a great way to shake of the Sunday scaries and get ready for the new week!

Florida Keys

The Florida Keys stretch 120 miles off of the southernmost tip of Florida and boast open of the most unique vibes throughout the entire state of Florida.

Beyond that, it’s a true boater’s paradise, with calm and clear waters perfect for boating, fishing, diving and snorkeling.

One of the many diving destinations in the Keys is the 11-foot bronze “Christ in the Abyss” statue. But that’s not the only diving destination off the Keys. There are a number of reefs and hotbeds for animal life that you can enjoy.

Two of them are the incredible Dry Tortugas National Park and John Pennekamp’s Coral Reef State Park. A visit here will likely render sightings of beautiful animals, and potentially the opportunity to swim with dolphins!
