Stuarts Draft man charged after four-car Waynesboro crash

Chris Graham

policecar3The Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Stuarts Draft man for drunk driving after he caused a chain reaction vehicle crash on Rosser Avenue Friday afternoon.

Officers charged Michael Dean Losh, 52 years old, with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/second offense in 5 years after he slammed his 1999 Ford Expedition into a line of vehicles stopped for a red light at the intersection of Rosser Ave & P Buckley Moss Drive.

On July 18 at 12:15 PM, police officers responded with the Waynesboro Fire Department and Waynesboro First Aid Crew to the intersection just outside the Waynesboro Town Center for a report of a four vehicle accident.  All four vehicles were heading northbound and three were stopped at the intersection.

Losh’s 1999 Ford Expedition failed to stop and rear ended a 2011 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 60 year old Stuarts Draft man.  The impact propelled his vehicle into 2013 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 50 year old Fishersville woman, which in turn sent her vehicle into a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 45 year old Greenville man.  Only the owner of the 20ll Toyota 4Runner required medical attention and was transported to Augusta Health Emergency Department.

The damage to the four vehicles is estimated at over $25,000.

Losh is free on bond.
