Strasburg Express nips Waynesboro Generals, 2-1

generals-express-150x150Three Strasburg pitchers scattered eight hits, and the Express got just enough offense to top the Waynesboro Generals, 2-1, Thursday night.

Phillip Taylor (2-2) took the tough-luck loss for Waynesboro, which has now lost 12 of its last 18. Taylor gave up two runs on seven hits in six and a third innings, striking out eight and walking none on 95 pitches, 64 for strikes.

Cole Gruber had three hits for Waynesboro, which falls to 16-13 on the season and is now a season-high four games out of first place.

The Generals are on the road Friday at Covington.
