Staunton: 19-year-old man, juvenile charged in string of vehicle larcenies

A 17-year-old juvenile and a 19-year-old male from Staunton face charges after being linked to a series of larcenies from vehicles in the city dating back to September.

Nysiah Plaisance, 19, was arrested on Dec. 5 and initially charged with two counts of petit larceny, two counts of entering a vehicle with intent to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and wearing a mask in public.

On Dec. 16, the list of charges facing Plaisance grew as he was linked to additional theft cases. He was charged with credit card theft, nine counts of petit larceny and 11 counts of entering a vehicle with intent to commit a crime.

The juvenile male was arrested in connection to the larcenies on Dec. 20. His name has not been released.

The juvenile was charged with eight counts of credit card theft, two counts of grand larceny, 19 counts of petit larceny and 26 counts of entering a vehicle with intent to commit a crime.

Both have been released on bond.

The investigation included reports of multiple larcenies from vehicles throughout the city between Sept. 30 and Nov. 24.
