A 24-year-old Richmond woman is dead after a crash on Interstate 95 in Henrico County over Labor Day weekend.

Mkayla Emani Harris was traveling southbound on Sunday just after 3 p.m. and was allegedly on her phone, according to Virginia State Police.

Police said Harris was in the center lane when she got distracted, ran off the road to the left, overcorrected and struck an embankment.

The vehicle overturned multiple times, and her body was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Harris died at the scene, according to VSP.

The crash remains under investigation.
