State Police ask for public’s help locating suspect, vehicle in I-85 shooting

The 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche with Virginia registration TFN 1004 has been located, according to Virginia State Police.

A fugitive wanted for a fatal shooting on Interstate 85 on Thursday remains on the run, according to Virginia State Police.

Jason Allen Glidewell, 19, of Bracey, is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police have released photos of the vehicle believed to have been involved in the fatal shooting. The silver 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche may have damage to the driver’s side door or front quarter panel, according to police.

The vehicle has a Virginia license plate of TFN 1004.

Glidewell has ties to the Richmond/Henrico area and is described as a White male, five foot, seven inches tall and approximately 160 pounds.

Glidewell is wanted for the fatal shooting of Hunter A. Bates, 20, formerly of Colonial Heights. The shooting occurred along I-85 at the five-mile marker in Mecklenburg County on Aug. 28 at 3:47 p.m.

Bates’ Honda Civic had gone off the right side of the road and landed in a culvert after the shooting. A female passenger in the Civic was treated at an area hospital and released.
