uva-logo-new2The Wednesday (March 5) Virginia-Old Dominion baseball game has been postponed because of inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 1 at 5 p.m. at Davenport Field.

This change also impacts the originally scheduled game for April 1 between Virginia and Norfolk State. Because of the change in the UVa-ODU game, Virginia and Norfolk State are working on a mutually agreeable date to reschedule.

Tickets for the UVa-ODU game will be accepted for admission to the contest on April 1. Fans may also exchange their tickets in advance for a General Admission ticket to any other regular season game by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 542-8821 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They also can bring their ticket to the gate for General Admission seating at any remaining regular-season home game, subject to seat availability at the time of arrival.

Ticket information for the Norfolk State game will be communicated when the rescheduled date is announced.

Virginia baseball fans are encouraged to sign up for a new text messaging service to stay updated on date and time changes for home games this season. To sign up, text UVABASE to 79516. Standard text messaging rates apply.

Season tickets, 10-game mini-packages, and single-game tickets for the 2014 Virginia baseball season are on sale at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office. Customers may purchase tickets by logging on to VirginiaSports.com, calling (800) 542-UVA1 or by visiting the ticket office in Bryant Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets will also be sold at the Davenport Field ticket windows beginning two hours prior to each home game.

vmi_logoDue to the winter weather that came through the Lexington area Monday, VMI baseball has canceled its Wednesday game with James Madison. At this time, there are no plans to reschedule the contest, although the two schools will face each other later this season in Harrisonburg.

In place of the JMU game, the Keydets have added a Wednesday contest in Winston-Salem, N.C., taking on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons out of the ACC. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and a full preview will be available late Tuesday here on VMIKeydets.com.
