Virginia doubled its lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Taylor led off the inning with a double and scored on Hultzen’s two-out single to center. Kenny Swab followed with a RBI single to center that scored Proscia.

The lead grew to 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth as the Cavaliers added a run. Keith Werman and Taylor drew one-out walks and John Barr’s single that followed drove in Werman

Hicks added one final run as he led off the bottom of the seventh with a home run off the left field pole, his seventh homer of the season.
