A 23-year-old Henrico County man is dead after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Richmond.

Liam Oliver Mancuso Palma died at the scene.

The fatal crash occurred on Sunday at 2:08 a.m., according to Virginia State Police.

A 2012 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Mancuso Palma, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-95 approximately 200 feet north of Broad Street.

A 2017 BMW 6 was unable to avoid striking the Elantra and hit the vehicle head on. The Elantra then spun out and was struck by a 2021 Honda Civic.

The driver of the BMW was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

This crash remains under investigation.
