lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesA J.J. Hardy RBI single in the eighth broke a 4-4 tie and lifted the Baltimore Orioles to a 5-4 win over the Seattle Mariners Thursday at Camden Yards.

The O’s got a Steve Pearce grand slam in the first to jump out to an early 4-0 lead, but Seattle chipped away, getting a run back in the second on a Wellington Castillo sacrifice fly, two more in the fourth on a two-run singly by Richie Weeks, and a single run in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk to Logan Morrison.

Chris Tillman, who had been questionable this week with lower back stiffness but got the start, lasted only three innings, giving up a run on one hit, striking out two and walking three.

Tommy Hunter (2-1) got the win in relief. Zach Britton picked up his ninth save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
