New Staff Joins the Bath Community Senior Center

bathlogolargeAfter nearly four months of posting employment ads for a Director at the Bath Community Senior Center (BCSC) with little to no response, Chief Administrative Officer Jenn Chestnut struck gold when Alicia Wrights submitted her interest in the position. After an interview was conducted with Jenn, Interim Director Nancy Johnson, BCSC Local Council Chairwoman Mary Susan Blankenship, and BCSC Local Council member and VPAS Board director PY Henry on March 10, it was obvious Alicia was the perfect match for the position.

Alicia has years of diverse experience with older adults including working as a Home Care Aide and Home Care Manager, Medical Records Director, Human Resources Manager, and most recently as Office Assistant at the Bath County Chamber of Commerce.

Alicia will join BCSC in her new role effective April 3.

Recruitment for a new BCSC Van Driver, after former Van Driver Hap Darragh left his position in February, also led to Jenn striking another pot of gold when Kathy Boguess submitted her interest in the position. Like Alicia, after Jenn, Nancy, Mary Susan, and PY interviewed Kathy, it was obvious another perfect match was made.

Kathy has years of experience working as an Office Manager and Customer Service representative, and has tremendous passion for working with older adults.

Kathy will join BCSC in her new role effective March 31.

Enormous thanks are extended to Nancy Johnson who has served in the Interim Director role for the past four months. Without her commitment and support over the past four months, BCSC’s doors would not have remained open; she truly is a shining star. And thanks are also extended to Highland Service Coordinator Harmony Leonard who has served more recently in the Interim Director role one day a week, and to Mary Susan and PY for their ongoing support over the past four months.

Alicia and Kathy are the perfect match for their respective positions and VPAS could not be more thrilled with the new team at BCSC. Exciting changes are in store at BCSC with this dynamic duo!!!
