Mikayla Venson leaves UVA women’s basketball program

uva basketballUVA women’s basketball head coach Joanne Boyle announced on Tuesday (March 15) that sophomore guard Mikayla Venson (Arlington, Va.) has left the program.

Venson’s departure from the team is immediate and she will not compete with the team in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

UVA opens the WNIT at VCU on Thursday (March 17).

“Mikayla has made a decision that she feels is in her best interest,” said head coach Joanne Boyle. “Our focus is on moving forward to develop the student-athletes in our program and prepare to play VCU in the WNIT on Thursday. I will have no further comment on this matter.”
