Mary Baldwin University students will have the opportunity to complete their MBA within one year of earning their bachelor’s degree by taking graduate-level courses early.
The accelerated MBA is one of two new programs announced by MBU aimed to address time and financial constraints.
A bachelor of arts in marketing will also be available to students offering three concentrations: marketing management, integrated marketing and consumer insights.
The goal of MBU with the new offerings is to meet the demands of the ever-changing job market.
“Our accelerated MBA is an exceptional opportunity for students to gain advanced business knowledge and leadership skills in a shortened time frame, positioning them for success in the workforce,” said Joanne Tritsch, MBA program director.
These programs are part of MBU’s broader academic refresh.
“By focusing on modern methods and learning from true industry experts, our BA in marketing is a transformative experience that prepares students to thrive in today’s digital and data-driven business environment,” said Clayton Smith, marketing program director.
The university recently discontinued 23 under-enrolled majors as part of a series of cost-cutting measures to help the school with its long-term stability. In a statement to AFP last month, a university spokesperson said MBU had developed strategic initiatives that would build a strong and stable future.
“As opposed to merely cutting, we have significant plans and initiatives underway that will transform and grow the institution in terms of the revenues it can produce,” the statement said. “This proactive approach demonstrates how our 183-year-old institution faces and conquers external challenges.”
Mary Baldwin is a private university with nearly 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students with campuses in Staunton and Fishersville.
