Marco Anthony leaving UVA Basketball program

marco anthonyVirginia men’s basketball head coach Tony Bennett announced Monday that junior guard Marco Anthony (San Antonio, Texas) is leaving the Cavaliers’ program.

“Marco informed me that he is leaving the Virginia basketball program and transferring to another school,” Bennett said. “I thank Marco for his hard work and contributions to our program, and wish him success in the future.”

Anthony averaged 1.5 points and 0.7 rebounds in 35 career games during his two seasons at UVA. The Cavaliers posted a 64-6 record during Anthony’s two seasons on Grounds.

“I had an amazing experience at the University of Virginia,” Anthony said. “Thanks to Coach Bennett, the entire staff and my teammates. The memories created, the relationships built, and the pillars I have inherited are all things I will carry with me to the next school I attend.”
