MAGA readers rush to defend ICE agent who shot, killed unarmed protestor

The “Don’t Tread on Me” MAGA types are actually perfectly OK with being trodden upon, as long as the government doing the treading is owning, and wantonly killing, the libs.

“FA and get deceased. Only will be more because the wacko left thinks they can assault law enforcement and get away with it. Assault is not protesting,” wrote a guy who ID’s himself as Kevin Snyder, and claims to be a U.S. Army veteran, commenting on our Facebook page on our reporting on the shooting death of an unarmed protestor by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

ICYMI

As an Army veteran, Mr. Snyder probably should be aware that law enforcement protocols do not allow officers to shoot at a fleeing suspect, if that’s even what we saw today in Minnesota was.

All we know for sure right now about the woman shot to death by an ICE agent, Renee Nicole Good, 37, is that her vehicle was idling in the middle of a city street, with an SUV in front blocking her path, and one behind.

Agents got out of the second vehicle and approached her minivan, told her to get out of her vehicle, and one attempted to reach inside.

At that point, she attempted to drive away, and was shot by an agent who was standing to the side of the vehicle and its path.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem spun a fairy tale to reporters about what went on:

“Officers were out in enforcement action,” Noem said during a press conference in Brownsville, Texas. “They got stuck in the snow because of the adverse weather that is in Minneapolis. They were attempting to push out their vehicle, and a woman attacked them, and those surrounding them, and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle. An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to protect himself and the people around him, and my understanding is that she was hit and is deceased.”

Clearly, this is not what happened, from this video from the scene:

Cue the predictable gaslighting from one Donald Trump:

“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in selfdefense. Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”

Neither statement, from Noem or Trump, squares in any way, shape or form with any reality.

You’d think people who market themselves publicly with the moniker “Don’t Tread on Me” would take issue with government jackboots indiscriminately shooting and killing a widowed mother, but, nah.

“Well, you’ve got to be pretty stupid to think it’s okay to be impeding law enforcement operations period!” opined a man named Brad Ozmore, who identifies himself as a retired military police officer and retired Chesterfield County police officer.

Probably a good thing that Brad is retired; he saw the same videos we all did, and thinks Renee Nicole Good was “impeding law enforcement operations,” solely because Noem asserted such.

“This person obviously made the wrong choice for the ‘cause’ and faced the consequences of THEIR actions,” Ozmore wrote.

And the cops wonder why people don’t trust them anymore.

This retired cop just justified the murder of an innocent, and actually, worse – he blamed her for her own death.

A lot of that is going on in the comments section right now.

From the group that tried to get people fired for pointing out that Charlie Kirk was a gasbag, which is accurate – he was, but only the lunatic fringe on the left was out cheering what happened to him.

Dozens of people have taken the opportunity to darken our pages today to cheer on the death of a woman in Minneapolis, and we don’t even know if she wasn’t just a stranded motorist in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I’m basing that on the comment her mother, Donna Ganger, offered the Minnesota Star Tribune:

“That’s so stupid” that she was killed, Ganger said, after learning some of the circumstances from a reporter. “She was probably terrified.”

Ganger said her daughter is “not part of anything like that at all,” referring to protesters challenging ICE agents.

“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” she said. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

I’ll close with this comment on our Facebook post, from a UVA alum, John VanderMyde:

“Lots of people in these comments would have told the Nazis where Anne Frank was hiding. The love of authority is disgusting.”
