Guardrail and cable barrier work scheduled for today and tomorrow will close the left lane of Interstate 64 westbound in western Albemarle County.

Work will occur between mile markers 104 and 96 on Afton Mountain. Lane closures will occur Monday andTuesday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., to avoid impacts to rush hour traffic.

Message boards will be in place to inform motorists of the work. Motorists should keep right and use caution approaching the work zone.

Road conditions and other real-time travel information can be found on the 511 Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia. VDOT updates are also on Facebook and the district’s Twitter account, @VaDOTCulp.
