The Dukes remained undefeated after a pair of home victories over the weekend. JMU took down Longwood 4-2 on Sept. 5 before rallying for a thrilling 2-1 double overtime win against Richmond on Sept. 7.

This is the first national ranking for JMU field hockey since Sept. 21, 2010 when the Dukes were ranked 20th in the nation.

JMU hits the road to face Appalachian State on Friday, Sept. 12 for a 3 p.m. game before heading to Boone, N.C., to take on No. 13 Northwestern in a neutral-site match at 10:30 a.m.
