Jim Critzer, Linco to be a big part of the Waynesboro Generals team in 2013

generalsLong-time Waynesboro Generals owner Jim Critzer and his business, Linco Inc., are back on board with the Generals as major sponsors for the 2013 summer season.

With the sponsorship from Linco, the home field of the Generals will be known in 2013 as Linco Park at Kate Collins Field. Linco will also be splitting the cost for sponsorship of the Waynesboro Generals Game of the Week broadcasts on WSVA-550AM in Harrisonburg that are new this summer.

Critzer was the sole owner of the team for nine years, and led the team to its most recent Valley League championship, in 2007. Critzer and David Gauldin, the executive vice president of Mathers Construction, purchased the team together in 2010 and converted the team from for-profit to non-profit status in 2012.

“Jim was the main reason that I agreed to help the Generals,” said Gauldin, the president of the board of Waynesboro Amateur Athletics, the non-profit that owns and operates the Generals baseball team. “Our work with the Generals has been very satisfying the last three years, but we still have some work to do. With this said, it is very gratifying to have Jim back where he belongs with the Generals.”
