Hearing Healthcare of Virginia, with six locations in the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia, launched a new Community Wellness Program on Sept. 1 for anyone age 50+.
The program makes it easier for people to get a baseline hearing screening by offering an annual screening for free.
Like an eye exam, physical or mammogram, major national organizations including the AARP and the American Medical Association recommend an annual hearing exam.
Why should you get your free hearing exam? Recent studies have shown a direct link between hearing loss and diabetes, dementia, cardiovascular disease and depression.
The free 15-minute screenings will be offered at Hearing Healthcare of Virginia locations in Charlottesville, Covington, Culpeper, Fishersville, Harrisonburg and Lexington.
