Fredericksburg Nationals play-by-play man Eric Bach is getting a September call-up from the Low-A level to the bigs.
Bach will fill in for Dave Jageler, one of the voices of the big-league Washington Nationals, when the Nats face the Atlanta Braves in a doubleheader at Nationals Park on Tuesday.
“I couldn’t be more excited to make my Major League broadcasting debut, and I can’t thank the Nationals enough for the opportunity,” said Bach, a 2021 graduate of Michigan State, who has been the voice of the FredNats, the Low-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, since 2023.
“My time in Fredericksburg has connected me with so many great players and people in the Nationals organization throughout the last four years, and it means the world to me to be trusted with this responsibility,” Bach said.
Bach, the Carolina League Broadcaster of the Year in 2024, will join Charlie Slowes for both ends of the split doubleheader – the first game is set for a 1:05 p.m. first pitch; Game 2 begins at 6:45 p.m.
