Four to be charged in Kevin Quick murder: Report

Reserve Capt Kevin Quick 3A Richmond TV station is reporting that four people have been charged with murder in connection with the death of Waynesboro Police Reserve Capt. Kevin Quick.

According to WRIC in Richmond, Daniel Mathis, Shantai Shelton, Mersadies Shelton and Travis Bell (a.k.a. Kweli Uhuru) are charged with murder in the death of Quick, and five others – Gert Wright III, Anthony White, Anthony Stokes, Leslie Casterlow and Devante Bell – are facing gang-related racketeering charges in connection to the case.

Those charged are all members of a subset of the Bloods gang known as the 99 Goon Syndicate, according to the TV station, citing a review of federal court documents.

The station reported that the indictment of the nine details how the gang carjacked and kidnapped Quick the night of Jan. 31 and drove him around to various banks to attempt to withdraw cash from his bank accounts before murdering him and dumping his body in Goochland County.

Quick was reported missing on Feb. 1, and his body was found on Feb. 6.
