The Trump DOJ actually followed through with the case of a former Virginia Beach man who threatened to kill Joe Biden and Kamala Harris – which, yeah, shocker.

I mean, they even put out a press release touting the guy getting a five-year prison sentence, and everything.

Somebody’s going to get fired over this obvious eff-up.

“Threats of violence against elected officials affront the political process and the rule of law,” Acting Western District of Virginia U.S. Attorney Robert N. Tracci said today, which, will today be his last day?

You have to wonder.

“This office will seek clear accountability against those who threaten public officials with acts of violence,” Tracci said.

This, a day after Trump threatened to execute a group of congressional Democrats because he didn’t like a video they posted online.

“Accountability.”

Back to the man in question at the heart of this story, Kevin Butler, 47, had previously been convicted in 2014 for threats made against Biden and Barack Obama.

In the most recent case, in 2022, according to court records, Butler made a series of phone calls to a parole office in which he threatened the lives of Biden and Harris.

Butler, per the court documents, left several voicemails to deliver this threats, including one in which he said would get a MAK 90 (a semiautomatic firearm), “jump over the fence” outside the White House and “kill the President.”

OK, so, now I’m reading that Butler was convicted on the charges involving Biden and Harris following a two-day trial last December, so, before Trump took over the DOJ.

Hey, they could have tried to drop the case, somehow.

Trump could have pardoned the guy.

Still could.
