Dave Brat: Thank you

dave bratWhat more can I say than thank you to the men and women who share my beliefs in our Constitution and the greatness of this country. The same people who founded our country shared these beliefs as well – that America can and will be great. To those hose tireless workers who stood courageously with us, to the $5 and $10 contributors, to all of you I am humbly and deeply indebted. The people of the 7th district have said NO to deal-making that hurts our families.

Deals that create reckless spending, that sell citizenship, and that enrich insiders are bad deals for the American people. The people of Virginia are not the only ones who share this belief, and we look forward to working with all Americans to restore our country’s greatness. I will work tirelessly on your behalf in our shared mission to grow the middle class. I will work to protect wages for hard working Americans. I will work without stop to promote our shared values of family, faith and liberty.

No honor would be higher than serving you and your families in the United States Congress. I ask you, humbly, for your vote in November. And I promise you I will never work for anyone but you – for any cause but yours – for any interest but the interests of the Virginia, the United States and its people. That is my solemn pledge and heartfelt commitment to each and every citizen of Virginia’s 7th District.

I want to thank God for seeing me, my wife Laura, and my children Jonathan and Sophia through this grueling but fulfilling primary campaign. We appreciate the chance for a brief break from the campaign trail to be a family for a short time, and then we will return to the campaign trail to reach out to the rest of the voters of the 7th district to reaffirm the trust of those who voted for me Tuesday, and to make our case to those who voted for Eric Cantor or waited to vote in November.

Dave Brat is the Republican nominee for Congress in the Seventh District.
