Charlottesville Area Transit will experience several detours in response to upcoming events.
Friday, Nov. 30
The Free Trolley will not serve the 2nd Street Mall Crossing bus stop (#17305) from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Passengers traveling to and from Charlottesville’s Grand Illumination are encouraged to use the East Market Street at 2nd Street NE bus stop (#11299).
Saturday, Dec. 1
Routes 7 and 8 will not serve the CVS bus stop (#16680) in the Barracks Road Shopping Center from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Route 7 passengers wishing to travel to and from the Barracks Road Shopping Center should use the Nike (#13265) and McDonald’s (#13157) bus stops located on the south side of the property. Route 8 passengers should use the two bus stops located on Barracks Road near the Emmet Street intersection (#19767 and #14180).
Sunday, Dec. 2 through Tuesday, Dec. 4
Construction on Emmet Street will prevent Route 7 from serving the Emmet Street @ Rothery Road bus stop (#16362). The disruption will occur twice daily. In the mornings it will occur from 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM. In the evenings it will begin at 8:00 PM and continue through the end of service. Passengers are encouraged to use the Emmet Street @ Lambeth Lane bus stop (#16370).
Saturday, Dec. 8
The Free Trolley will not serve the 2nd Street Mall Crossing bus stop (#17305) from service startup until 12:00 PM. Passengers traveling to and from the Wells Fargo Holiday Heritage Parade are encouraged to use the East Market Street at 2nd Street NE bus stop (#11299).
