bridgewater logoBridgewater College athletics director Curt Kendall announced today that Don Burgess, head coach of the college’s men’s basketball program for the past seven years, has resigned.

“Bridgewater College is an outstanding institution which is committed to excellence in the classroom and in its athletics programs,” said Burgess. “I would like to thank the Bridgewater College administrators, the BC community, BC alums, my family, my staff and the student-athletes for their efforts over the past seven years.”

“We want to thank Coach Burgess for his service to Bridgewater College and to the student-athletes he has led during his seven years as our coach,” said Kendall. “Coach Burgess is an outstanding individual and has represented Bridgewater College well on and off the court. He and his staff have been very supportive of his players, and will always be a part of the Bridgewater family. We wish Don success in all his future endeavors.”

“We have the foundation for excellence here,” noted Kendall. “Our fans and alumni have been very supportive of the program and we want to deliver the best possible experience both on and off the court. We are confident that we can achieve great success in the years ahead.”

A search for the next men’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
