What: Battle Building Community Open House

Central Virginia residents are invited to tour the Battle Building at UVA Children’s Hospital, which will consolidate and streamline UVA’s outpatient pediatric care. Saturday’s events include:

Well Bear Clinic, where children can bring in a stuffed toy for a checkup or receive a free stuffed bear (while supplies last)
Kids’ activities, including magic shows, music and face painting

A chance to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog and Cubby the Bear

The 200,000-square-foot facility will bring together hundreds of doctors and healthcare staff devoted to caring for kids and families into a building designed to place children at ease and promote healing. Children will be able to receive primary care as well as care from pediatric providers in dozens of specialties, including allergy, cardiology, hematology/oncology and teen health. The building will open this summer for patients and families.

When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 14

A brief dedication ceremony will begin at 10:05 a.m.

Where: Battle Building – corner of West Main Street and Jefferson Park Avenue

Parking will be available at the 11th Street Garage, located right next to the Battle Building.
